The Predictions
Fidel Z vs Kiwi Peewee
This bout is easily the most interesting one on the card, imo. We have the always underrated Fidel Z squaring off in his first ever LBT Title match. Make no mistake, he's no rookie to the LBT or top-tier battling on LB. He's had victories over some of the top names this site has had to offer over the years such as GRizzEAT, Rieper, Punk, and many others. He steps in the ring with the defending champion in Kiwi Peewee, who defeated Shodan in a classic 32 liner to gain the belt. He's also coming off an impressive performance in the 2019 Rookie Of The Year tournament which is still ongoing. This battle is highly anticipated and very evenly matched, and one that the audience can't wait to see happen.
Prediction: Coinflip
Esso vs GOOD GRIEF
We have not one but TWO former LBT Champions stepping in to the ring against each other. GOOD GRIEF won the LBT Championship in 2014 in dominating fashion over the champion Obey, and Esso won the championship in 2015 and went on a long run with it before becoming, at the time, the 2nd ever LBT King. These two are heavyweights in every aspect of the word when it comes to text battling, and will be ready to face off in a battle that is certain to be a classic.
Prediction: Coinflip
The Grudge Match: Subreal vs Shodan
This match came about due to a beef that started in the forums from Subreal asking if people really thought Shodan was a legitimate heavyweight or not. Subreal, a text champion in his own right, strongly disputes whether Shodan, who has been in multiple text finals in his career, can stake a claim to heavyweight status. Subreal hasn't been an active battler in quite some time and has shown to not take his opponents serious if he doesn't view them to be on his level, whereas Shodan has been an active battler for the better part of a decade since his arrival. This will be an interesting and heated matchup, to say the least. What form of Subreal will show up? Will Shodan prove his doubter(s) wrong? Tune in to find out!
Prediction: Shodan 65-35
Squammy vs Brickrepper:
A battle between two writers who have often been overlooked in the past for various reasons, this battle has sleeper potential that hasn't been seen on an LBT card in quite some time. Squammy, with his clean writing style, has proven to be a formidable opponent to any caliber of writer he steps in the ring with, while Brickrepper, who's style is based heavily on his ability to throw hard-hitting punchlines, has done the same in the tournament section of LB. Both will need to be on their games to pull out a W here.
Prediction: Squammy 59-41
Rain Matrix 2021 vs MacArthur:
We’ve got a long time fixture of the site and former Tag Team Champion against an enigma who’s had a very impressive run in the One Bar Tournament. Rain Matrix’s short-bar style compared to MacArthur’s flow-oriented verses make this the ultimate styles clash. In the end, I’ve got Rain Matrix picking up a W and keeping his momentum moving forward.
Prediction: Rain Matrix 76-24
Frawsty DaFlowMan vs The Saaxxx Baba
A fresh face with an ice-cold delivery will be making his big battle debut against another promising rookie prospect. Frawsty has a style reminiscent to the older times of LB with a swagger that has been hard for many to match in battles, while Saaxxx has creative concepts and an unorthodox style that catches an opponent off guard. This is a style-preference battle through and through, and one that promises to entertain regardless.
Prediction: Saaxxx 64-36
korvus vs DiZzReSpEkT
A polarizing figure on LB makes his return to the LBT card to face off against a rookie prospect that's fairly rough around the edges, but still shows promise. korvus is no stranger to title matches, as he has been a finalist in tournament finals and has battled for the LBA Championship on multiple occasions, often coming up short to some of the site's greatest, while DiZz is looking to rebound after a disappointing showing against The Saaxxx Baba in the Rookie Of The Year tournament. DiZz shows potential, but it's hard to side against the experience that korvus has gained over his time battling. This will be a highly contested battle nonetheless.
Prediction: korvus 73-27
Good luck to all participants and may the best man win!
