RULES AND SIGNUPS
BRAYNE FARTCES will be a member ran forum tournament, held by yours truly. Forget everything you've learned on your time at LetsBeef and go back to the basics. Compete with other battlers to see who can make the most of what little bit of skill you're allowed to retain. The goal here is to be the most entertaining; not to showcase skill and ability. Embrace your inner noob, relax and have some fun on LB.
RULES:
1. All verses will be 8 bars, 4 lines. All battles will be held in the
Basic League. You will be
very limited on what you'll be able to use in your verse:
A.
RHYMING will be limited to
2 or less syllables! (Rhymes will still be capitalized, however.)
B.
PUNCHLINES will be limited to
one liners! There is really no uniform way to limit this but as a rule of thumb... if it needs an expo, it's too complex for this tournament.
C.
WORDPLAY is encouraged, no matter how awful it is.
D.
LINE BREAKS must be used at the end of each line to separate them. No other puncuation may be used (no slashes, hypens, ellipsis, etc.)
E.
NAME FLIPS AND PERSONALS will be kept to the immediate battle. No historic-ass personals from some shit from 6 years ago or name flips from previous/alternate names. Personals CAN be used but must be very recent (within a few months) or something widely known.
2. Depending on the number of participants, this will be a two or three round tournament. No showing a battle will disqualify you. Breaking any of rules 1A-1E has the potential to disqualify you. I will write the cards upon completion of sign ups and pair battlers myself. Battlers will be provided specific deadlines for submitting their verses.
3. Aside from the battles taking place in the Basic League, there will also be a poll thread started by myself to vote for the Verse of the Round. Winner of the Verse of the Round will gain certain privelages in the event no-shows cause uneven brackets for further rounds.
EXAMPLE BAR:
I'm throwin' backhanded punches 'til this dude got a RED FACE!
Hit him with the gun bars- but he don't have the HEAD SPACE!
(Notice the rhymes are two syllables, the punches are one liners and that there are
line breaks to separate the lines. This is critical you structure your verse as such. Think about how the new guys write; this is what we're going for.)

1st place: Forum Tournament Winner Award, a pendant of your choice and 50 credits.
2nd Place: A pendant of your choice and 25 credits
