IRC was the shit back in the day, but it died in the early 2000's and most of y'all were never blessed enough to fuck with it..
but yeah there were IRC communities for everything. wannabe hackers, anime, porn, TV shows, roleplaying, etc. It was huge for peer 2 peer file transfers though. back when I'd download shit off LimeWire and it ended up being a virus, I'd turn to IRC and join those p2p channels. Download all my favorite shows and movies
