you could also look at this on a conspiricist level, as a wag the dog event to try and take focus off of russia and trumps relationship.. heres the scenario, russia tells syria to play along, use a syrian airbase thats either obsolete or vacant, stage chem attack.. evacuate base, let trump know about plan, trump goes on record as to bomb base... result.. 1.trump shows the world, democrats especially that hes not friends with russia by attacking syria, 2.he now shows n.korea and iran that he will not hesitate to use unilateral force if needed, 3.takes heat off of the russia trump investigation.. . every one involved, russia, usa, and syria are in on the whole thing

No, I don't believe that. I'm not arguing against your theory. I'm just saying I don't think the fact that something doesn't make sense is a good enough premise to conclude that it must not have happened. Neither Brexit nor a Trump presidency make much sense from where I'm standing, yet they have both occurred. If he's done it before (chemical bombing), why is it so far-fetched that he would do it again? Sure it makes him look like a total ass....but it was bound to make him look like a total ass the first time and he still did it. The difference between then and now is he has Russian support on the ground. Maybe it emboldened him somehow and he thought Donald Trump would stay out of it since he's chummy with Putin and had spoken against American interventions on the campaign trail. Maybe he thought America wouldn't find out. You might also be right that Assad had nothing to do with it. That's why I said earlier that Trump should have waited for an international investigation...so that way, it's not only the United States saying Assad used chemical bombs--but also independent investigators from other countries. If the U.S. is going to try to police the world, they should do so only with the cooperation of other nations rather than acting unilaterally.

It's still quite split in the US on the position of who exactly carried out the chemical attacks. I assume that it will remain that way, just as the investigative results of the 2013 Syrian chemical attacks remained largely unconfirmed.
Arguing about which side did it isn't the topic at hand, what do you guys think about the Trump enacted US intervention into Syria and the serious situations that can escalate from that?
Part of me believes it was the right thing to do. The US, as stupid as you may think it is, believes itself to be the humanitarian police of history (short-sighted of the backblast, seemingly) and felt the need to retaliate to a crime against humanity.
Part of me also believes that we've seen what comes from sticking ours hands into piles of shit and not expecting them to stink when we pull them out.

There's other proof that he didn't do it the first time too. Not saying he never would or that he wouldn't but there's a few good vids with an alternative narratives you can find if interested.

I think you're right for Assad to attack now seems dumb and counter productive. As far as point 1 goes I think that's possible for sure as well as your second point but the 3rd one is far fetched. The Trump investigation was just a cover. He's been being surveilled since Bush.

Dam...I honestly stopped trying to keep up with everything cause it'll drive you fucking bananas but skimming through this thread, yes chemical warfare is more fucked. Dante's inferno level 5 compared to warfare level 10 but still, war is war; war is bad.
The sad reality though is that there's already an infrastructure set up and people pulling strings and shit that control the military. So this shit just seems even dirtier in the information age but it's been going on for a while now.
I guess the takeaway is try to happy, try to be informed but not overwhelm yourself and be that "guy" the conspiracy guy who can't let others enjoy themselves. Life's too short to not be positive which effects people around you which helps your community which helps your city, state, country, world, earth, solar system, galaxy, universe, etc.
Peace & Love on some real hippie shit
