Pat Stay vs Bigg K
Not that much actual battle rap talk these days, gonna start posting threads like these for every worth-while battle big leagues release. Whenever the forums are in a low-zone activity wise why not discuss the shit we all come here for?
My view:
Round 1 - Bigg K - Pat had an okay first round, opener included some funny jabs like going back on his "his mom says love you, goes to hug you & catches a one-two" tough guy break-downs he spat against i think it was hollow. best moments were the louie ck punch but he had an overall good approach imo, going with humor instead of straight bars against someone so punch-heavy was smart. Bigg K actually started off with humor too, but came just like youd expect him to- incredibly direct at pat and punch heavy. Giving the first round to bigg k for higher creative consistency and i also felt like he spit a lot longer than pat.
Round 2 - Pat Stay - keeping it short now, pat was more direct & aggressive this round which i liked. He had humor/bars and a fire personal breakdown with that "conviction behind your bars" shit, gonna be difficult to challenge that versatility. Bigg K came more personal & humorous this round, definitely a back & forth at this point. Gave this round to Pat even still.
Round 3 - Bigg K - Pat throwing a healthy mix of schemes & humor still, nothing that crazy tbh. Mightve been his weakest round which is a weird way to close shit off. Wont be that hard for bigg k to outdo em this round. aaand now that ive watched it he did just that, kinda overpowered him with the consistent jabbing. and that ender from K was fire to me, shows cojones
Bigg K 2-1
nobody has to break shit down round by round just lemme know what yall thought

I'll check this shit out myself and return here with my opinion of it.
One thing I have to say is that scoring a battle round-by-round seems dumb. What if Battler A is slightly behind Battler B in two rounds, but leagues ahead of him in one? Then Battler A would deserve to win, but Battler B would win according to that method.

Thats a pretty good point, in the past I used a judging system akin to Knamelis' one whereby you give each battler a "point" when something creative or impactful enough comes along & the one with the most "points" at the end of the round gets that round- but I just used the round-by-round system here as its the most common.

In my opinion, voting rubrics or formulas of any kind should never determine the winner. I've done so previously, but now see it as mistaken. Battles are too complex and intuitive to be determined formulaically. The only good method of judging is holistically.
EDIT: They can help you come to your conclusion and explain things more clearly, of course. They just shouldn't be used to directly choose the winner.

Aight, so I just watched this shit. I think Bigg K won by a hair but I could see the arguments for giving it to Pat Stay. I think this one comes down to preference, mostly Pat's delivery, aggression, and personal angles versus Bigg K's more complex punches.

Bigg K 3-0. As much as I hate to say it, only round Pat arguably could have took was round 2 imo... that one may could have went either way based on preference, but Bigg K went longer, had more crowd reaction, and you could just tell Pat knew he lost that. I'm prolly the biggest Pat Stay fan, but his delivery was shaky, mad stumbles, damn near choked but had a cool recovery,
Bigg K was just overall better here, and still had the personal angle. It wasnt one sided as it seems, but if this battle was to take place on LB, votes would prolly be like 75%-25% Bigg K for the W.

Pat just seemed off for this whole battle to be honest, it was like he was struggling to remember lines and it made the delivery really patchy.
