So I was watching this video again and it made me think.. of style choices and what style can beat what style.

Example: all punchlines vs all personals... etc.

In this video.. an all humor style beat personals and punches.


So, figured we could have ourselves a healthy friendly debate. Which style do you prefer to utilize / listen to and why? Which one is the "best" style there is, in your opinion?

I like a mix of humor and personals. Jokes over bars bitches.

My favourite is bars about how people exclusively have sex with girls that have disfigured limbs. Imo that is dope as fuck and definitely championship calibre. 10/10 need more like that.

I personally think that punchlines 99% take the victory but it is possible to win a battle when your punchlines are not better but that all depends on what you say and it also depends on how the voters feel about what you say. I feel that the key behind all rap battles rests in punchlines, execution and overall entertainment.

Punches win battles but personal punches last longer, as in you'll remember them a week later. Shit, a good enough punch you could remember for years really.

Personals are great but they can't be too exclusive, you've got to know your crowd and if you've got to expo every line then you're not being open enough.

like, in a live battle, if youre battling an unknown guy, best to leave out personals and go with jokes,

if the person is known, gotta gauge what the audience feels (personal punches vs jokes)
