Android is better for several reasons:
1) It is more open-sourced than iOS
2) It is more customizable
3) It is based on the Linux kernel which means it would probably run on an actual computer better than iOS
4) It is provided to handset manufacturers free of charge by Google, which results in cheaper handsets

Aaaactually iOS Is Based On Linux Aswell
Its Just That It Is Like 4th Generation Linux While Android Is Directly Related To It
Also, On The Other Side, Since Android Is More Customizable Than iOS, That Means That IOS Will Most Likely Always Have Better Performance Handsets With More Intensive Browsing And Gaming; That Is Due To Its Tightly Controlled Brand Structuring In Which Apps And Games Will Seem To Work Better And Look Better Due To The Developers Exactly Knowing What They Are Working With
